About

The Ohio Northern University Marching Band was organized in 1890 through the school's military department.

Early on, the band played for military events and special university functions. The marching band was not active with athletic events until the early 1900's.

Today, "The Star of Northwest Ohio" is a part of the department of music and is very active both on and off campus. The group uses a modified corps style of marching, with a host of colorguard members and twirlers that compliment an outstanding group of musicians. The ONU marching band performs at all home football games, area parades, band festivals and many special events throughout the world.
